AI Metadata Cleaner is a free in-browser metadata and AI provenance cleaner for images, video, PDF, and RAW files. It inspects and strips EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, C2PA Content Credentials, and AI generator tags (Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, GPT-Image-2, Veo 3) locally in your browser via WebAssembly. There are zero file uploads. Pricing is 100% free, no signup is required, and the cleaner runs locally in the browser.

Creators use it before a file leaves the machine. A JPEG can still carry camera EXIF, GPS coordinates, IPTC credits, XMP, or a C2PA manifest after it looks clean in a preview. The inspector lists those blocks, then the strip step rewrites the container on the device.

Supported file formats

Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and HEIC. Video: MP4, MOV, and WebM via FFmpeg.wasm. Documents: PDF via pdf-lib, including author, XMP, and document properties. Camera RAW: DNG, CR2, NEF, and ARW via LibRaw WebAssembly. One local session can mix these types inside the 20-file batch limit.

Honest boundary

AI Metadata Cleaner strips container-level metadata and C2PA/JUMBF markers locally. Pixel-domain SynthID watermarks are detected and explained. They are not stripped, because they live in the image pixels rather than in a metadata box. The tool also does
